If Penta describes the dynamics of small groups (3-5 people), OC16 describes the mechanics of large groups. When the number of people exceeds 5, a new transpersonal aura emerges — OC16, controlling the behavior of all participants.
OC16 stands for "Outer Circle 16," referring to the 16 faces of the mandala (Godheads). This aura operates at the level of tribe, organization, nation.
OC16 Mechanics
OC16 works differently from Penta:
- Penta — individualities are partially "dissolved," but each person is still felt as a personality
- OC16 — individuality "disappears" almost entirely. You become a "cell" in a larger organism
This explains why:
- A crowd behaves differently than the sum of individual people
- Corporations have a "culture" that dominates over employees' individuality
- National identity can override personal identity
- Religious, political, and social groups create "groupthink"
WA: The Transpersonal Aura of Humanity
WA is the highest level of transpersonal mechanics in Human Design. It's the aura encompassing all of humanity. WA isn't an abstraction — it's a mechanical force acting through Earth's programming field.
WA influences:
- Global trends — why certain ideas "surface" simultaneously in different parts of the world
- Collective consciousness — humanity's general "mood" in a specific period
- Evolutionary shifts — mutations affecting the entire form simultaneously
Transpersonal Karma
Ra Uru Hu described transpersonal karma as the phenomenon where one person's actions and decisions affect the entire chain of transpersonal connections:
- Your decisions affect your Penta (family)
- Penta affects OC16 (organization, community)
- OC16 affects WA (humanity)
This isn't a moral concept — it's mechanics. When you don't live according to your type, strategy, and authority, you create a "false" transpersonal field around yourself.
