A Mental (Environmental) authority Projector is a Projector whose decision-making authority is based on their mental environment and who must wait for recognition and invitation before offering guidance. They are designed to read the room and people around them before sharing their insights.
A Mental authority, also called Environmental authority, is one of the three inner authority types in Human Design and is found through aura analysis. For Projectors, this authority shows up in the mental processing of their environment rather than through the solar plexus, sacral, spleen, or ego. The authority is considered mental when no motor center connects directly to the throat, leaving the mind as the processing center.
In practical terms, a Mental Projector needs to observe and digest their surroundings before making decisions. This can include the physical space they are in, the social dynamics, and the people present. Sleep quality, meal times, and immediate circumstances all factor into how clearly they can process. Decisions made without this input tend to feel premature or misaligned.
