Reflector
Reflectors are the rarest type in Human Design — the true mirrors of society. With all centers open, you are deeply sensitive to your environment and reflect the state of the community. Your greatest gift is the ability to see everything as it truly is, without filters. Reflectors are connected to the lunar cycle and need a full 28-day cycle to make important decisions.
Strategy
Wait a Lunar Cycle
Reflectors make decisions through a full lunar cycle (28 days), talking to different people and observing how their feeling about the situation shifts. Never rush major decisions. The key question is: 'Do I feel surprise and delight about this?'
Not-Self Theme
Disappointment — arises when you make hasty decisions or are in the wrong environment.
Signature
Surprise and delight — the sense of wonder from being in the right place with the right people.
Strengths
- ✦Ability to see and sense society like no other
- ✦Deep wisdom and a neutral perspective on things
- ✦Natural capacity to detect health or dysfunction in an environment
- ✦Openness to diverse experiences and perspectives
- ✦Unique position as a bridge between people and systems
Challenges
- Extreme sensitivity to environment — the wrong environment is draining
- Societal pressure for quick decisions, incompatible with the lunar cycle
- Risk of identifying with conditioning and losing oneself
In Relationships
In relationships, Reflectors need a partner who gives space and time for decisions, doesn't pressure, and understands their unique nature. The right environment is the foundation of their wellbeing.
At Work
Reflectors thrive in roles where their unique ability to see and assess systems and people is fully utilized. A flexible schedule and the right environment are essential.

How we measured this →Where type comes from
Type is not a separate property of a chart but a readout of which centres are defined. Across 13 827 charts it shows up as an identity rather than a claim.
Reflector means "no channels at all". Charts with zero channels: 1.12%. Reflectors: 1.12%. The match is exact because it is the same statement said two ways.
