Gate 7: The Gate of the Role of the Self (The Army)
Gate 7 is located in the G Center and corresponds to I Ching Hexagram 7 — "The Army." These are gates of natural leadership — the ability to lead people forward through a correct vision of the future.
A person with Gate 7 has an innate leadership potential. But this is not authoritarian leadership — it is democratic influence, based on the leader being chosen by the people rather than self-appointed.
The Energy of Gate 7
Gate 7 belongs to the Collective Logical Circuit. Its role is to indicate direction for the collective based on logical analysis. Characteristics:

Gate 7 connects with Gate 31 (in the Throat Center), forming Channel 7-31 — The Alpha Channel. This is the most powerful leadership channel in Human Design — the elected leader who leads through influence.
People with Channel 7-31 are natural leaders who are chosen by others. They must not impose themselves — their leadership works only when recognized. This is especially relevant for Projectors, who must wait for the invitation.
Gate 7 and Projectors
Gate 7 holds special significance for Projectors. A Projector with Gate 7 is a potential leader-guide who sees where to go and can lead others there. But only when recognized and invited.
Without recognition, a Projector with Gate 7 can experience deep frustration — they see solutions, but nobody listens. The key is patience and trusting the process.

Each line of Gate 7 describes its own type of leadership:
- Line 1 — The Authoritarian: leadership through deep knowledge of fundamentals
- Line 2 — The Democrat: natural leadership that requires no effort

Shadow, Gift, and Siddhi
- Shadow — Division: using power to divide people
- Gift — Guidance: ability to unite people around a shared vision
- Siddhi — Virtue: leadership through personal example of virtue
