How do you read your Human Design chart?
You read a Human Design chart by entering your birth date, time, and place to generate a bodygraph, then interpreting your Type, Strategy, Authority, Profile, and defined/undefined Centers as a self-awareness tool.
Start by generating your chart with your exact birth date, time, and place, since even small time differences shift the positions of the planets and gates. The result is a bodygraph, a visual map of nine Centers, thirty-six Channels, and sixty-four Gates, which is the foundation of every reading.
Begin with the four core mechanics. Your Type (Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, Manifestor, or Reflector) describes how you energetically interact with the world. Your Strategy is the practical decision-making approach aligned with your Type, such as waiting to respond as a Generator. Your Authority points to the inner faculty you can trust when making choices, often felt through the body's signals. Your Profile, a two-digit number like 1/3 or 5/1, reflects the role you naturally play in life.
Next, look at defined and undefined Centers. Defined Centers show consistent, reliable energies you can depend on, while undefined Centers are where you amplify and sample others' energy, often a source of conditioning or open wisdom.
Finally, study your Channels and Gates, which represent specific themes such as identity, relationships, or direction. Channels connecting two defined Centers indicate a fixed trait or gift. Treat the chart as a reflective framework rather than a fixed destiny, noticing over time how its descriptions match your lived experience.
