Conditioning: The Not-Self Through Open Centers

In Human Design, conditioning is the process by which you take in someone else's energy as your own. This happens through undefined (open) centers in your bodygraph.

Each undefined center is a place where you amplify and reflect the energy of others. This is not a weakness — it is a potential for wisdom.

Conditioning Through Each Center

• Open Head Center — pressure to think about things that don't matter to you
• Open Ajna — uncertainty about your thoughts
• Open Throat Center — trying to attract attention
• Open G Center — searching for identity through others
• Open Ego Center — need to prove your worth
• Open Sacral Center — not knowing when to stop
• Open Solar Plexus — conflict avoidance
• Open Spleen — holding onto what isn't healthy
• Open Root Center — constant rushing

From Conditioning to Wisdom

The key is awareness. When you understand that the energy in an open center is not yours, you can observe without identification. This transforms conditioning into wisdom.

Deconditioning Practice

• Spend time alone — this "clears" open centers
• Ask yourself — "Is this my pressure/emotion or someone else's?"
• Study your open centers — know where you're vulnerable
• Follow Strategy and Authority — this protects against conditioned decisions
