What is Human Design?
Human Design is a system of self-knowledge created by Ra Uru Hu in 1987. It combines elements of astrology, the I Ching (Book of Changes), Kabbalah (Tree of Life), the Hindu chakra system, and quantum physics into a single map — the bodygraph.
Unlike astrology, which describes character through zodiac signs, Human Design provides a concrete decision-making mechanism. Your bodygraph shows how you process energy, where you are stable, and where you are susceptible to outside influence.
How Does the System Work?
To calculate a bodygraph, you need your date, time, and place of birth. The system performs two calculations:
- Personality — the moment of your birth. This is what you are conscious of about yourself.
- Design — approximately 88 days before birth. This is your unconscious, bodily nature.
