Research: Human Design across 13,793 real charts
The only Human Design study with per-channel detail. Every chart was computed with a single engine (Swiss Ephemeris) so we could measure the frequency of all 36 channels and 64 gates — figures published nowhere else. Population-level type and authority splits have long been counted on samples in the millions; our contribution is depth, not size.

Findings

We analyzed 13.691 real charts (11,195 celebrities + 2,496 users) — the only Human Design study that measures the frequency of each channel separately. Here's what we found.
📺 TV runs on Charisma
Channel 20-34 (Charisma) appears in 18.6% of TV personalities vs 12.0% baseline — the strongest signal of the whole study. TV's second channel is 29-46 Discovery (14.3% vs 9.0%).
⚽ Athletes carry Power
34-57 (Power) among athletes: 15.7% vs 12.0%. Alongside: sacral motors 2-14 The Beat, 1-8 Inspiration and 19-49 Synthesis.
💼 Business picks Struggle
Channel 28-38 (Struggle — stubborn fight for meaning) among business figures: 17.9% vs 12.4%. Second signal: 6-59 Intimacy (16.1% vs 11.7%).
⚔️ Military: Wavelength + Emoting
16-48 (The Wavelength — mastery through repetition) among military leaders: 13.0% vs 8.6%. Plus 39-55 Emoting (12.8% vs 9.0%).
🔬 Scientists & writers mature
42-53 (Maturation — finishing cycles) is over-represented in both science (12.1%) and literature (12.6%) vs 8.2% baseline. Scientists also carry 7-31 The Alpha (13.1% vs 9.3%).
🙏 Spiritual leaders are Manifestors
Among spiritual figures, Manifestors are 14.4% — 1.4× the 10.2% baseline. Mirror fact: among influencers Manifestors are just 5.9% — modern influence runs on response, not initiation.
🌍 Ra's canon holds across 13,691 charts
Type distribution across the corpus: Generators 35.3% + MG 32.1% (67.4% combined), Projectors 21.3%, Manifestors 10.2%, Reflectors 1.0% — almost exactly the canonical 70/20/9/1. Emotional authority: 51.2%.
💠 The rarest channel is Awakening
10-20 (Awakening — being yourself here and now) appears in just 3.0% of charts — humanity's rarest channel. The most common: 20-34 Charisma (14.6%). Average channels per chart: 3.4; corpus record — 9.
Methodology: frequencies compared against the corpus-wide baseline; reported signals are significant at z ≥ 3 (most at z ≥ 4, surviving Bonferroni correction across ~540 comparisons). Most celebrity birth times are unknown (noon default) — this adds noise to profiles/lines but barely affects channels and type. Correlation ≠ causation.
Methodology
All charts computed by one engine (pyswisseph) — zero computation heterogeneity. Frequencies are compared with a proportion z-test against the corpus-wide baseline; we report |z| ≥ 3, and most cited signals are |z| ≥ 4, surviving Bonferroni correction across ~540 comparisons (36 channels × 15 categories). Type × occupation: χ² = 112.7, df = 56, p = 1.1×10⁻⁵.
Limitations — read before citing
1) Birth times are unknown for 91% of celebrities; noon is the default. Type and channels are barely affected (slow planets), but the Sun's line is — so profiles are measured only on the verified-time subset (n=985). 2) Celebrities are not a random sample of humanity; they are the best available proxy, not a census. 3) Correlation is not causation: "channel X is more common among athletes" does not mean it makes an athlete.
