The Wilhelm/Baynes text for hexagram 29, line three reads: "Forward and backward, abyss on abyss. In such danger pause and reflect. Otherwise you will fall into the abyss." The person with this line activated is not called to sit on the bank and theorise about the leap — they are called to keep leaping, each time learning what the abyss actually is, and each time discovering whether this particular abyss is theirs to cross.
The Gift
In its healthy, conscious expression, Gate 29 Line 3 is one of the most reliable sources of embodied wisdom in the BodyGraph. The sacral says yes because it says yes; the third line ensures that the yes is tested. Each commitment becomes a laboratory. The person learns, in their cells rather than in their mind, what the saying-yes actually delivers — what it costs, what it opens, what it breaks.
