It lives in the Channel of Logic (43–47) and concerns how the abstract mind distills experience into meaning, often only after the pressure of limitation, confusion, or grief has done its refining work. Where the gate as a whole seeks the aha through suffering, Line 5 — the sixth-level, universalizing line — projects that realization outward. The 6th harmonic is the line of trans-personal radiation: what has been realized privately is offered to the collective as a general, even archetypal, truth.
The classical image for Hexagram 47, Line 5 is the well that yields cold but clean water — the well is limited in temperature, yet its clarity is drinkable, nourishing, and available. The 47.5 carries this image with the added dimension of projection: the water drawn from the well is not just for the drinker, but is meant to be brought to the village square.
