The image is of wind working its way again and again into the same crevice, attempting entry where entry is not yet permitted. In Human Design, Line 3 of any gate is the Martyr / Experientialist — the mutative harmonic of the lower trigram, whose only path to knowledge is the path of bumping up against life. The 3rd line does not arrive at understanding through contemplation or transmission (as 1 and 2 do); it must touch, test, fail, and touch again. Its gate-word could be empirical: the truth must be touched to be known.
