What Is Variable?
Variable consists of four arrows around the Head center in the bodygraph. Each arrow can point left (strategic, active) or right (receptive, passive). These arrows encode information about the Color of your key planetary activations.
The four arrows:
- Upper left — Design Sun/Earth → Determination — how to feed the body
- Upper right — Personality Sun/Earth → Cognition — how to process information
- Lower left — Design Nodes → Environment — where to live
- Lower right — Personality Nodes → Perspective — how to see the world
The 6 Motivations
Motivation is determined by the Personality Sun's Color and answers the question: "What truly drives me?" This isn't what you think about your motivation — it's what actually is.
- Fear (1) — motivation to explore the unknown for safety. People with Fear as motivation become the deepest investigators — their fear pushes them into the very heart of mystery.
- Hope (2) — motivation to see potential and possibility. Natural optimists unconsciously seeking a better future in everything.
- Desire (3) — motivation through craving new experience. These people need variety and movement — stagnation is death for them.
- Need (4) — motivation through the need for connection and community. Everything they do relates to relationships.
- Guilt (5) — motivation through feeling that something needs to be fixed. Natural reformers and revolutionaries.
- Innocence (6) — motivation through pure seeing without hidden agenda. A rare ability to see things as they truly are.
Transferred Motivation
Each Motivation has its transfer — the shadow side it transforms into under conditioning pressure. If you're not living according to your strategy and authority, your motivation "shifts" to its transfer:
- Fear (1) → transfers to Innocence (6)
- Hope (2) → transfers to Guilt (5)
- Desire (3) → transfers to Need (4)
- Need (4) → transfers to Desire (3)
- Guilt (5) → transfers to Hope (2)
- Innocence (6) → transfers to Fear (1)
Living in transfer, you're unaware of the true reason behind your actions, and life becomes mechanical.
The 6 Perspectives
Perspective is determined by the Personality Node's Color. It's your unique viewpoint on reality — the filter through which you perceive and interpret information:
- Survival (1) — sees the world through the lens of safety and threats
- Possibility (2) — sees potential and resources everywhere
- Action (3) — sees what needs to be done, practice-oriented
- Meditation (4) — sees deep structure, contemplative approach
- Power (5) — sees the dynamics of power and influence
- Personal (6) — sees through the lens of personal experience and wisdom
Left vs Right Orientation
Arrow direction adds another layer of meaning:
- Left arrow (←): strategic, active, focused approach. You process information sequentially and analytically.
- Right arrow (→): receptive, passive, peripheral approach. You perceive information holistically, without analysis.
The combination of all four arrow directions gives 16 possible Variables — from fully left (strategic mind, strategic body) to fully right (receptive mind, receptive body).
