The Manifestor aura is closed and repelling. It is the most impactful and potentially dominating aura in the system. With approximately nine percent of the population born as Manifestors, this aura is designed to initiate, to push against resistance, and to create impact in the world. The repelling quality is not hostile; it is protective. It gives the Manifestor a buffer of space so that they can act freely without being drained by the energy of others. When a Manifestor honors their Strategy — to inform before they act — their aura softens, and the people in their life can relax into the relationship. When they do not inform, their aura contracts and creates resistance, which often manifests as anger in those around them. The signature of the healthy Manifestor is peace.

The Generator aura is open and enveloping. It is the most enveloping of all the auras, and Generators — along with Manifesting Generators — make up roughly seventy percent of humanity. This aura is designed to embrace life, to work with it, and to master whatever it touches. The open quality means that Generators take in and amplify the energy of their environment, which is why they have such sustainable power when they are doing what they are designed to do, and such exhaustion when they are not. Their Strategy is to respond rather than initiate, and when a Generator waits for something real to respond to, the aura lights up with satisfaction. The signature of the healthy Generator is satisfaction.
The other two aura mechanics — the Projector's open and focusing aura and the Reflector's open and sampling aura — follow the same foundational principle: the aura is not a metaphor but a mechanism, and learning to live inside it is what makes Human Design practical rather than theoretical.
