Gate 6, known as the Gate of Conflict, belongs to the extraordinary category. Their name speaks for itself - it is a key mechanism of influence on humanity in general. On a biological level, the gate is connected to the skin, and its key "Friction" has many layers. This is also the friction between all the streams of e…
Sacral Center — one of the nine energy centers in Human Design. An open Sacral center absorbs and amplifies the sacral energy of defined people nearby. You may feel enormously energized around Generators, but quickly deplete when alone. The risk is taking on too much work based on others' seemingly inexhaustible energy. You are not here for continuous work. Your ability to sense when sacral energy is genuine versus amplified allows you to be wise about timing and choosing your actions.
If this center is open in your chart, you absorb and amplify this energy from those around you.
An open Sacral center absorbs and amplifies the sacral energy of defined people nearby. You may feel enormously energized around Generators, but quickly deplete when alone. The risk is taking on too much work based on others' seemingly inexhaustible energy.- 01Go to sleep earlier and ensure proper rest — your energy reservoir is limited
- 02Listen to your body: if you feel tired, that's a real signal to stop
- 03Avoid making plans exclusively in the company of energetic people — check your feelings when alone
The centre on the wheel
The transiting Sun activates these gates for everyone — on those days this centre's theme is louder.
From our corpus
Measured across 13,930 real chartsHow often this centre is defined — and why
In 67.6% of corpus charts. The centre is not inherently commoner or rarer: 11 of the 36 channels reach it, and that alone accounts for almost all of the frequency.
Across all nine centres, "how many channels reach it" against "how often it is defined" correlates at r = 0.972. Thirteen channels touch the Throat and it is defined in 70%. Three touch the Head: 24%. Geometry, not temperament.
Measured across 13,827 real charts.
Voice of the Sources
11 sourcesThe Sacral Center is the source of life energy and workforce, which manifests through a bodily response ('uh-huh', 'uh-uh', or silence) in answer to an address or opportunity. All authors agree: for a defined Sacral this is an inexhaustible, but switchless energy, which is worth turning on only for what truly responds; for an undefined one, it is a motor that does not belong to the person themselves and must consciously discern one's own from another's. A deep wound is connected either with a false attachment to destructive sources (for the open), or with the unrecognizedness of efforts (for the defined) — and in both cases a return to the Sacral response as Authority is the path of liberation.
- Ra Uru HuShows the shadow of the open Sacral through vivid examples of cruel attachment and the inflexibility of the mind clinging to the unhealthy, and contrasts this with conscious discernment as the only way out.
- Richard RuddEmbeds the Sacral into the broader hologram model of the three bodies and the shadows of Addiction, where the suffering of the physical and astral layers is overcome through awakening the deep code of existence.
- GrassingerTranslates the Sacral into the biological plane of muscle tone and metabolism, reading the quality of an address through the bodily response and drawing attention to the chemical deficiency of modern food that weakens the motor.
- Ilse SendlerEmphasizes the practical procedure of 'just go and look' as a way to awaken the response, and clarifies the role of the Spleen Center as a source of meaningfulness that amplifies the Sacral signal.
- WinigerConveys the user's experience from within: the fear of stopping initiations, the pain of inaction, and the discovery that trusting the response brings more results than forcing — even in conflict with loved ones.
- Lynda BunnellExplains the Sacral within a systemic frame — dormant gates, format channels from the Root, and the Generator Strategy of 'waiting for a question in order to answer' as the body's logical surrender to the flow of life.
- The Golden PathSees the Sacral in a deeper evolutionary perspective — through Genetic Keys, meditation, and the awakening of suffering into creativity, where the hologenetics of the I Ching becomes the heir of the Sacral tradition.
- CurryIllustrates the Sacral with a parable of stones in a river and a practical case of a 'sister's phone call', showing how the Sacral answer works even outside the direct 'yes/no' form — through an inner compass and the warmth of relationships.
- Steve RhodesBrings the Sacral into the plane of the Rave Construction and Ervan Reflectors, where the center becomes a response-core without a Throat, which closes off flows and defines the path of consciousness through the generating quality.
- Chetan ParkynFocuses on the wound of the defined Sacral — the unrecognizedness of work — and on the formula 'behind every successful person stands an engine with a defined Sacral', warning against endless labor on others' ideas.
- Peter SchöberTranslates everything into a therapeutic lens: a return to Strategy and Authority through trust in the response, and for an emotionally defined configuration — the obligatory ripening of decisions in time through waves of feelings.
Divergence lies in two places: first, the role of the Spleen Center — Ilse Sandler insists on its contribution to the meaningfulness of the Sacral response, whereas the Ra Uru Hu fragment in effect excludes the Spleen from the motor hierarchy in favor of the Sacral; second, the interpretation of the response for an open Sacral — Sheber and Curry describe it as a potentially available tool with a conscious attitude, while Ra Uru Hu speaks of it primarily through the lens of destructive addiction that must be rooted out.

3In Human Design, there are many intersections with various traditions—from the academic to the esoteric—but the very aspects of this synthesis often remain unexplored. A good example is the Hindu chakra system, which resonates with the seven-year cycle of deconditioning. The first chakra corresponds to the Root Center…
The third year of the cycle is dominated by the energy of the second line, which keeps the process mostly internal. The external manifestation may break through, but for most people everything remains at the level of a deep inner movement. The new power that rises from within is real — and at the same time unpleasant,…
